Women's Suffrage Tea Party, Oct.24 

A Celebration of the Centennial of the 19th Amendment

We are inviting all girls to learn about the fight for Women's Suffrage movement. You can participate in two ways: Video submission or attending the Tea Party.

Make a Suffrage Video

Many Girl Scout have completed the Girl Scout Suffrage Centennial Patch Program. This is your time to shine. Showcase what you've learned in a short video. We will compile video submissions and show them at the Women's Suffrage Tea Party. 

Daisy, Brownie Junior: Create a 1 minute video about why it is important to vote. You can create a song, write a poem, make a poster or drawing and show it in the video.

Cadette, Senior, Ambassador: Create a Public Service Announcement about the importance of voting.

Deadline: October 16th

Video Guidelines:

  • Submission deadline: October 16th.

  • Dress like a Suffragist or wear your Girl Scout uniform.

  • Record in a quiet setting with good lighting.

  • Use neutral background.

  • Be close up --  upper body only.

  • Film horizontally.

  • Use the back camera on your smartphone for higher quality, on a tripod or sturdy surface.

  • Do not use your last name.

  • Include name and troop number in file name.

  • Save as a .wmv, .avi, or .mov file, not to exceed 100MB file size

Women's Suffrage Viewing Tea Party, October 24th, 4:00

Whether you make a video or not you're invited to the Viewing Tea Party. Dress up like a Suffragist and grab your favorite tea cup. We'll get together virtually to watch the videos that have been submitted together, make a Suffrage Cat to display in a window at home and pay a fun game together.

 

 

Supplies needed:

  • Suffrage Outfit: 

    • Wear all white 

    • Make a fancy hat

    • Make a Suffrage Sash 

  • Crayons, colored pencils or markers.

  • Tea and tea cup

  • Light snack or Girl Scout Trefoils
